\u00a0Una volta collegata al resto dell’Isola Mljet tramite un ponte in pietra, oggi Santa Maria \u00e8 un’isola all’interno dell’isola, un santuario di bellezza e tranquillit\u00e0. La chiesa e il monastero benedettino del XII secolo che sono stati eretti sulle sue rive rappresentano un eccezionale valore storico e culturale per la regione e una volta erano la sede di una delle primissime biblioteche della Dalmazia.<\/em><\/p>\n

L’isolotto di Santa Maria \u00e8 il luogo ideale per evadere dal trambusto e dalla fretta del mondo esterno. Fate un tuffo nelle invitanti acque salate del lago, che ospitano rare specie di piante e animali selvatici che non si trovano in nessun’altra parte del mondo. Venite a incontrare i due asini residenti sull’isola, Melita e Ante, di propriet\u00e0 del monastero. Infine, dopo una piacevole passeggiata intorno all’isolotto, perch\u00e9 non godersi un men\u00f9 tipico della Dalmazia e un drink o due sulla nostra incantevole terrazza sul mare.<\/p>\n
